Known as the World Class Stratford Project the aim of which is to take Stratford upon Avons image into the 21st century in various ways with regards to construction projects both new and undergoing this multi-million pound initiative will allow Stratford upon Avon to meet and overcome the challenges it faces with been a town that respectively has a postion of global importance as a major tourist destination for visitors from all over the world.
So what are some of the current and undergoing projects in the town one of the main ones is the plans to improve the Waterside and Southern lane area of the town with regards to redevelopment of Bancroft Gardens and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

This mainly involes improving the traffic flow in both directions as well as adding a contraflow lane for cycles and widening the footway as well as laying it with york stone paving therefore making it a more pleasant experience for pedestrians.Another project is the "Walkable Core" the main objectives of this is to prioritise that cycles and pedestrians as well as public transport need to be given more importance than cars therefore creating a pedestrian friendly enviroment in which the historic town can be properly appreciated.

This result been less impact of vehicles on the local enviroment of Stratford and improving pedestrian connections and hopefully attract more visitors to the main attractions.The Project is always looking into ways of improving the town of Stratford upon Avon for both its local residents to the hundreds of tourists who visit the famous town each day.
