Just like any other popular Tourist Town Stratford upon Avon has Open Top Bus tours which depart from the Tourist Information Centre at regular intervals. You can hop on and hop off at your convenience as you travel around Stratford upon Avon while visiting the five Shakespeare Houses or the many places of interest in the town including the Stratford Armouries Shakespeare’s Birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage plus Hall Croft.

The Open top tour lasts about 1hr and once you have purchased your ticket it remains valid for 24hrs plus special group rates are available or you can simply just pay the driver before departure on your tour which departs every 30/60 minutes.

The tour itself as mentioned before takes in the most famous sites in Stratford upon Avon and begins at the Pen and Parchment Inn taking in Windsor Street and Rother Street as you drive past the Shakespeare Memorial and the American Fountain you wont miss a thing when in the town centre including a drive past the famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the Courtyard Theatre. After taking in all the main sites in the town centre the tour then goes onto to the Stratford Armouries which is the last place to visit on the tour.

The commentary while on tour is supplied in 7 different languages and even a child’s commentary which for children is a fun and interesting way of learning about the place they are travelling around. Kids on the tour also get a FREE kid’s passport which contains games and puzzles to keep them busy and entertained while enjoying the Stratford tour.

Respectively while on the hop on hop off bus tour you may want to take in the splendid shopping which the town has to offer with all it different types of shops from the antique to the modern which are dotted all around Stratford from the bustling town centre to the Maybird centre which houses some well known high street names.

But there are other tours that you may want to take into consideration when you have exhausted the sightseeing in Stratford upon Avon as you are in the heart of Warwickshire and surrounded by a whole array of other attractions and tours for instance how about seeing Stratford from the air and been able to view the spectacular countryside then a trip to the Avon Air Centre is a must as you will fly over some of Stratfords famous sites like the Holy Trinity Church and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre as well as flying over the splendid Cotswolds Hills.Plus a new flight has been added to the tour where you can fly over the famous Blenheim Palace which is located in the heart of Oxfordshire.

If that was not enough you can also take a tour of one of the country parks in the area Burton Dassett Country Park which is located just off the M40 towards Gaydon and is in the heart of Warwickshire this is a very popular location for visitors to the area.The park was opened back in 1971 and is 100 acres of parkland with some spectacular views of the surrounding area especially from the location known as prominent beacon or you may want to vist the fascinating quarry mains and a visit to the 12th Century church located at the old village of Burton Dassett famous for its holy well.

Then you have Roman Alcester where the Romans arrived back in the 1st century AD and while you are there take a visit to the museum where you will be able to see all types of roman aretefacts and is said to be one of the most fascinating and interesting small Roman towns in the UK.Plus take a visit to Ragley Hall which is the Warwickshire Home of the Marquess and Marchioness of Hertford set amidst 27 acres of spectacular and beautiful gardens and last but not least Charlecote Park once again a very popular destination for visitors which has been home to the Lucy Family since the 15th Century set among sprawling and open parkland which is open all year round where you can walk for hours either on one of the designated tour paths or take a wander off the path and see the grounds at your pleasure.

So there is plenty to see and do not only in Stratford upon Avon but further afield in the surrounding Warwickshire Area
