Shakespeare Express.
Stratford upon Avon is famous for its local attractions like the Shakespeare Houses and the RSC to name just a few and the Stratford upon Avon Train Station is no exception.
We mentioned earlier that Platform 2 at the Stratford upon Avon train station is used for specialist steam trains so the Shakespeare Express is one of the most popular steam trains that run from Birmingham Moor street station to Henley in Arden then onto Stratford upon Avon and back.
The service operates only on a Sunday between the months of July to September and is a very popular steam train excursion for enthusiasts of the stream age.
The train route begins at Birmingham Snow Hill Station then onto Birmingham Moor Street Station on the way is Henley in Arden then onto the finish at Stratford upon Avon train station. While on the Shakespeare express enjoy some fine dining with breakfast, which is served from Birmingham with lunch at either Henley or Stratford and then enjoy High Tea while on your return journey from Stratford.
All in your journey on the Shakespeare express takes in a total of 50 miles and is a hour each way with the steam trains travelling up to 75mph dependant on which locomotive is used.
