With the Easter Holidays just around the corner once again parents are probably thinking what to do or where to take the kids during the Easter Break instead of just hanging around the house and driving them up the wall.
There is a whole array of activities and days out during Easter in the Midlands and the Warwickshire area you can take your pick from Theme Parks to Museums or Animals and Nature through to Water parks or Active days out to Arts and Crafts and just the Great Outdoors.
Animal and Nature Parks.
There are some really great animal and nature parks located in the Warwickshire Area as young children are always interested in animals and like to learn about animal’s habitats for instance a visit to the Broomey Croft Children’s Farm makes a great day out for all the family. The award winning farm attraction is specially designed and geared towards children aged 8yrs old and under at the farm kids can see animals that have been hand picked for there docile nature living in their natural environment set in a parkland setting.
The farm is kept spotlessly clean and safe for all and kids can enjoy tractor and trailer rides and pedal tractors as well as a play area complete with sand pit.
If you wish to relax for a while there is the Granary Tea Room that serves Tea and Coffee plus hot and cold snacks plus home made cakes and ice cream plus you can take a browse around the gift shop if you wish plus their are excellent toilet facilities at the farm as well.
Broomey Croft Childrens Farm is located off the M42 exit J9 then onto the A4097 towards Kingsbury Village then onto Bodymoor Heath Lane.
Stratford Butterfly Farm.
The Stratford upon Avon Butterfly Farm is a fascinating farm full of all sorts of insects from exotic butterflies to huge spiders all housed in a tropical rainforest environment. At the farm you will be able to see a whole selection of different birds and Koi Carp also including deadly insects from all over the world in Insect city and see the butterfly from its pupae stage in the caterpillar room through to its transformation into a butterfly.
As you walk and wander around the Farm not only will you be fascinated by all the different insects on show but the environment is also amazing as you will walk past waterfalls and fish filled pools as you are surrounded by flying butterflies.
When you want to relax take time to sit down in the picnic area which serves drinks ice cream and there are excellent toilet facilities at the farm
The Stratford ButterflyFarm is located at Swans Nest Lane Stratford upon Avon which is opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
Museums and Gallery
There are some great Museums you can take the children too in the Warwickshire Area making it a great family day out they range from historic museums to car museums to Shakespeare museums.
Shakespearience
This is a brand new attraction that is located in Stratford upon Avon and brings you Shakespeare in a new and thrilling fashion complete with the latest technology and special effects.
Shakespearience is located at the Waterside Theatre Stratford upon Avon.
Warwickshire Museum.
If you are into geology and Archaeology then this museum will not disappoint it traces the early history of Warwick including the great fire of Warwick in 1694.
Also on show is an array of Ancient Jewellery, Giant Fossils and bees and bugs and the fascinating Sheldon Tapestry the museum also holds family friendly events and activities throughout the year.
The Warwickshire Museum is located at Market Hall Warwick.
Falstaffs Experience
Falstaff Experience is located in one of the most historic buildings in Stratford upon Avon and is an award winning museum. Once inside the Tudor world of the 16th Century is brought back to life with some fascinating recreations and is a truly unique experience.
Some of the exhibitions inside the museum include the ship of the Golden Hinde dare you visit Plague Cottage and a unique exhibition where you can meet Henry VIII you can visit the gift shop and pick up historically related gifts such as books, tea sets, DVDs ,candlesticks, jewellery and postcards and there are excellent toilet facilities at the museum.
The Falstaff Experience is located at Sheep Street Stratford upon Avon.
Adventure Parks.
If you want something a bit more active to do during the Easter Holidays then why not visit many of the Adventure parks in the Area.
Heart of England Adventure Park.
The Heart of England Adventure park is located in Fillongly Meriden and has a sandy beach and a lake plus other countless activities you can take part in where you can for instance you can try out the Hover Cars or the Quad Pods or have a go on the Karts or the Quad Bikes plus go Trampolining or go on the Boating and Pedalo Rides around the lake plus loads of other activities at the Woodland Adventure or the Activity Tower.for the younger kids their is a rather spectacular inflatable play area at the park(Under 5s only) and unlimited use of the Bouncy Castle.
Plus there is transport available around the site in the form of a supertruck or land train.
Heart of England Adventure Park is located on the Meridan Road Fillongly Warwickshire.
Draycote Country Water Park
This is a great park where you can have plenty of fun take part in water sports such as canoeing, sailing or boarding or windsurfing but if been on the water is not your thing then why not just take a leisurely walk or try out some fishing in the wetlands area or go on a nature trail.
Also on the open slopes of the park that covers some 21acres try out some cycling or walking or kite flying.
Draycote Country Water Park is located a Kites Hardwick Rugby.
These parks are only a small selection of the many parks and play centres or activity centres you can visit over the Easter Break you could also pick from Drayton Manor Park or Alton Towers or the Midland Air Museum or other famous attractions like Warwick Castle or the Stratford Armouries or Charlecote Park in fact so there should be no excuse when you tell the kids that there is nothing to do over the Easter Holidays in the Warwickshire area.
